New North West Oakville High School

Oakville is growing.  Nowhere is it more evident than in our local school system.  The latest Oakville high school to be announced is slated for a September 2012 opening in Oakville's Westmount Area (on West Oak Trails Blvd in North West Oakville).  The school board is currently in the process of carving out boundary lines for the new school.

The Boundary Review Committee has narrowed down 3 boundary line options for the new West Oakville High School.  The new boundaries will affect most students in North West Oakville so if you currently live in the area or are thinking of a move to the area, I urge you to review the proposed boundaries and make your preference known to the Halton Board of Education.  Over the years, I've found that Oakville residents in particular are extremely active participants in their children's education.  Now is your chance to have your voice heard.  You can submit your boundary preference to the school board until Monday April 18th.  Submission details can be found at the bottom of this blog post.

The 3 boundary options are listed below.  They are named Option 1, Option 5 and Option 10.  The options were created by the Boundary Review Committee which is made up of representatives from the affected school communities.  I've included boundary name descriptions to help you understand the affected areas.  The new North West Oakville High School is phasing in Grades in all three options below.  I've included the proposed phasing for your information.
